Editorial and Automation Policy
Use of automation
WHYS.video uses automated systems to classify videos, suggest related content, prepare metadata, and detect potential quality issues. Automation may assist content production, but automated availability is not editorial approval.
Indexing and monetization
Pages must pass separate checks before they may be submitted for indexing. Monetization requires an additional approval state. A page can remain accessible while being excluded from search and advertising.
Editorial checks
Checks may include title and description quality, sufficient explanatory context, content freshness, media availability, duplication, rights verification, sources, author information, reviewer information, and policy risk.
Sensitive topics
Health, finance, law, public benefits, and safety topics require reliable sources and an appropriately qualified reviewer before indexing or monetization. Content that cannot meet that requirement remains excluded.
Sources and updates
Where sources are necessary, they are shown on the watch page. Publication and update dates should reflect real editorial events rather than dates inferred from database identifiers.
Corrections
Material errors should be corrected promptly. Pages may be updated, temporarily excluded, or retired while a report is reviewed. See the corrections page.
