What Happens When You Cancel Send on Gmail? A Complete Guide

Learn how Gmail's 'Undo Send' feature works when you cancel send, and how it helps you revise or delete emails before they're delivered.

When you cancel send on Gmail, the email will not be sent to the recipient, and it returns to your 'Drafts' folder, allowing you to either revise it later or delete it. This feature, known as 'Undo Send', gives you a brief window of time after hitting the send button to retract your email. However, once this cancellation period, which can be adjusted up to 30 seconds, lapses, the email cannot be recalled. Utilize this feature to avoid unintended mistakes or second thoughts about your message.
