Steam gems are a form of currency on the Steam platform, primarily used for crafting badges. Players can convert unwanted items in their Steam inventory, such as game trading cards, backgrounds, and emoticons, into gems. These gems can then be used to create booster packs containing more trading cards, helping users to complete sets and earn badges. Boosting your Steam level through badge crafting not only showcases your gaming achievements but can also unlock additional features within Steam, like an increased friends list capacity.
