Not all PS3 consoles are backwards compatible. Only the original 20GB and 60GB PS3 models are fully compatible with PS2 games. Later models, such as the 80GB and the slim versions, have limited or no backwards compatibility. To play older games, check your PS3 model's compatibility or look for digital versions available on the PlayStation Store.
